Holmes Avenue
This would be my favourite ‘make-over’ project. The owners of this charming French provincial-style home by the water were in need of a garden renovation to match the beautiful presentation of the house. They had toiled for years to create a maison de ville that looks like it’s straight out of Provence, right down to the details such as exquisite lanterns and urns.
The pool had last seen a construction team in the 1980’s. The fencing and brick paving were looking tired. The main entry area and path hadn’t been well-considered in their layout. The side path and back garden were previously utilitarian, and while the owners had lovingly planted and maintained, they needed a lift to bring them up to standard.

A couple of landscape consultation sessions with the owners set them on track to complete the renovation. Luxurious travertine now paves the enlarged entry area, newly-aligned paths and pool. Modern glass pool-fencing allows transparency from the arrival gate to the gorgeous dining courtyard. Fountains, lighting and potted plants add formality and the finishing touches to this dreamy scene.
