Nott Street

The Client desired a soft, rambling landscape to contrast with the strong lines in the contemporary architecture of their start-from-scratch house.

While the two courtyards required areas of hard surfaces to maximise use of an extended floor plan to the outdoors, plants were inserted along building lines and boundaries to give a backdrop of nature. Layers of green are apparent from the large picture windows of all habitable rooms.

Through several consultations, various concept options were explored and a vision was achieved which balanced luxurious travertine finishes with ever-changing and unpredictable plant life.
